Planning a trip together: share one look-only link

On most trips one person does the planning and everyone else wants one thing: to see the plan. Sending screenshots goes stale the moment something changes, and handing over your login is not an option. Daywend has a simpler way, the look-only link.
What the link is
The address of your trip belongs to you alone. When you want to show the trip to someone, you make a look-only link from the Share button. Whoever opens it sees the trip as a calm read-only page, the same days and the same plan that you see. There is nothing to change and nothing to save, so a friend cannot move a stop by accident.
How to use it
- Plan the trip.
- Press Share and make the link.
- Send the link to the people who are coming. A message in your group chat is enough.
Because the page shows the trip itself and not a copy, it shows the plan as it is now. If you change a stop later, the people with the link see the change.
When the plan changes hands
You stay in control of the link. If it landed in the wrong chat, make a new one: the old link stops working at once. When the trip is over, or you want to stop showing it, switch the link off. Only you, the planner, can do any of this.
Some advice for a group
- Plan first, share second. Send the link when the plan is worth reading, not before.
- Say in the message what you want back: "tell me which stops you would drop".
- Decide changes in the chat, and make them in the plan. One person edits, so there is one version.
Planning together does not need a shared account or a shared editor. It needs one clear plan and a link that lets everyone look at it.
